The Challenge

Game development has always had "idea guys." People with incredible concepts, detailed worlds, clever mechanics, but no way to build them. With AI tools, every idea guy can realize his vision.

But the bar for quality has lowered. Even premium, flagship games have become bloated and unmanageable.

AI can make this worse. Frameworks stacked on frameworks, massive waste. This challenge encourages well-written, optimized code.

Build your entire game with AI, but keep it small. Two divisions: 1024KB for the standard class, 256KB for the brave. Great games in small packages.

LLMs write your code. AI generates your art and sound. Hand-written code is actively discouraged.

Standard: 1024KB. Tight: 256KB. Code and assets, total. One game, one division.

A complete game

We don't want a demo or a proof of concept. This has to be a complete game.
